Peter Edwards Law is delivering a comprehensive two-day Mental Health Tribunal course for professionals looking to gain the knowledge and understanding required for accreditation to represent patients at Mental Health Tribunals. Day 1 – Understanding the Law Develop your understanding of the Mental Health Act (MHA) together with the relevant provisions of the Human Rights Act (HRA) and Mental Capacity Act (MCA), including the implications of the recent AGNI judgment and the new definition of Deprivation of Liberty. Day 2 – Preparing and Representing at Tribunals Explore mental disorder in the context of tribunal proceedings, together with the practical aspects of preparing cases and representing patients effectively at Mental Health Tribunals. Learn from 50 Years of Experience The course will be delivered by Peter Edwards, who brings 50 years of knowledge and experience in mental health and capacity law. His contribution to the profession was recently recognised with the Lifetime Achievement Award from Liverpool Law Society. The entire two-day course takes place live via Zoom, making it easy to attend from the comfort of your home or office without the additional time and expense of travelling.
